Directions for the Varied Thrush as per Terry Osborne:

DIRECTIONS: Take the QEW west to the 403. Continue westerly to Hwy 6 which
goes to Guelph. Go northerly past the road that will take you to the Lion
Safari to the next concession road which will be Conc. 8 West. Turn left or
to the west and proceed approximately 4 or 5 miles or so or until the
blacktop becomes gravel. That will be at Westover Road. Turn right, or to
the north, and go to house number 1605. The house will be on the left side
of the road. The bird is coming to a rock outcrop to the south side of the

Hello Ontbirders
Today, April 11, 2004 birded Amherst Island for the day. Despite the
cold wind off Lake Ontario it was a good day. In the "Owl Woods" we
observed 8 Long-eared Owls roosting in both Jack Pines and White Cedars.
On the KFN property at the east end there was still one Snowy Owl and a
lone Dunlin was observed feeding in the pond. Along the Southshore Rd
one adult Little Gull was observed in a flock of 120+ Bonaparte's Gulls.
At the ferry dock at Stella, a Northern Rough-winged Swallow was seen in
a flock of Tree Swallows.
                        good birding
