This afternoon around 1:30 my husband and I went looking for the previously
posted female Harlequin Duck, and found it and a male at the back of the
lagoon in the southeast corner of Humber Bay East Park among several
Buffleheads, and a pair of American Wigeons.
In the outer lagoon near the bridge there was a single female Hooded
Merganser and a pair of Norther Shovelers beyond the island.
This evening I went looking for the American Woodcocks near Bronte Creek
Provincial Park and was unable to locate them in or outside of the park -
but did see my first Eastern Meadowlark of the season inside the park on the
right side of the road about 500 m from the entrance.
Humber Bay Park East is at the foot of Park Lawn Rd., south of Lakeshore Rd.
Bronte Creek Provincial Park is north of the Queen Elizabeth Way, east off
Burloak which is the boundary between Oakville and Burlington.
