This afternoon, I drove the Opinicon Road and saw an Osprey at the Queen's
University Biology Station. Opinicon Lake is still 90% ice-covered, but
this successful Osprey was happily feeding on its catch of a 20-inch Pike.
Being just 30m away, this Osprey with its fresh Pike were photographically
perfect... so I had no camera. :(
Lots of Ruffed Grouse, Eastern Bluebirds, Red-shouldered Hawks, TVs, and a
few Wood Ducks.
Mammals: Otter, Beaver, Muskrats, 16 Deer.
QUBS is 3 km west of Chaffey's Lock, north of Kingston.
Best Pishes,
Ken Kingdon
