Weather: Today's high reached 11 degrees under moderate winds that started the day from the SW and later switched to the West. Cloud cover was dominant today but no precipitation. Observations: 15 Raptors rounded out the day with Red-tailed Hawks in the lead with seven, followed by Sharp-shinned Hawks with 3 making an appearance. ONe of today's two Rough-legged hawks took exception to our decoy owl and gave it a smack, producing a loud click the counter could hear. A Cooper's Hawk and a lone Turkey Vulture (Condor?) rounded out the day. The only other raptor was unidentified but was most likely a Goshawk, but was not seen well enough for a positive identification. On the passerine front, 100+ American Robins passed through the park and 8 pintails were spotted flying west. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Bill Brown ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Beamer Conservation Area, Grimsby, ON information may be found at: http://www.hwcn.org/link/niaghawk/index.html Beamer Conservation Area is located on top of the Niagara Escarpment above the town of Grimsby, Ontario.
