John Stirrat and I, both members of the Pickering Naturalists, volunteered
to take over from the TOC absentee leader(!!), and were most happy to help
with sightings and scope-viewing of some good waterfowl. The following were
seen at most of the six stops we made--long-tailed duck, lesser scaup.
gadwall, mallard, black d., bufflehead, redheads and common goldeneye.

Sioux Lookout--white-winged scoters, red-breasted mergansers

LaSalle Park waterfront--Am.Coot, canvasback, RING-NECKED D., HOODED
MERGANSER
Eastport Rd., Windermere Basin--cormorant, GREAT BLUE HERON, many scaups
Burlington canal at the lift-bridge--many long-tailed ducks; PEREGRINE
sitting atop the bridge superstructure
