The Tufted Duck was at Lock 1 of the Welland Canal today at 3:30pm when I left. Still actively feeding. It would drift down towards the ice feeding on the way, swim back up and repeat. A real energetic diver.
Sandra Eadie, Toronto Directions: Take QEW to St.Catharines and get off at Niagara St. Head north towards the lake and go to the end. It ends at Lakeshore Rd. Turn Right onto Lakeshore and go to the first light which is Bunting Rd. Turnleft on Bunting and go about 200 meters. The bird is in the open water just below Lock 1. Good luck.
