Hamilton, RBG Arboretum. This Monday Feb. 2 at 11:00AM, we again had a
Brown Thrasher come to the feed that was dropped at the markers intersecting
the MacDonnell and Capt'n Cootes Trails. Then a Northern Shrike appeared
and dropped to the ground near the Thrasher. There was some dancing,
puffing of breast feathers, splaying of tail feathers, no actual contact and
both flew up. The Shrike kept on going north out of the forest, and the
Thrasher sat above the feed and came down about 5 minutes later.
