I believe the first Prairie Falcon to be accepted by the ORBC was one well
seen by 7 experienced birders on April 19th, 1995 at the Grimsby Hawk watch.
This was the bird that appeared on a day with extremely strong westerly
winds. The bird flew in, captured an Eastern Meadowlark in front of the
observers, landed briefly and then took off with the captured Meadowlark in
it's jessless talons never to be seen again. I was fortunate enough to have
been one of those seven observers.
