Hi,

Late this afternoon along Earl Armstrong Road there were numerous
raptors including light and dark phase Rough-legged Hawks, male and
female Northern Harriers and 2 Red-tailed Hawks. At dusk, 3 Short-eared
Owls appeared and immediately dive bombed the harriers until they drove
them away. There were also several flocks of Snow Buntings totaling at
least 500. Amongst the buntings were several Lapland Longspurs. Also
present was a small flock of Horned Larks. A lone Great Blue Heron flew
past as the sun set.

Earl Armstrong Road (formerly Armstrong Road) is south of the Ottawa
International Airport. From Hunt Club Road, south on Limebank to Earl
Armstrong, or alternately, south on Bank Street, south on Albion, west
on High Road, west on Earl Armstrong.
