I failed to report in my earlier post that although this bird was extremely close to me, I was unable to see any number on the band. While I did have my binoculars in my vehicle, I didn't have the time to get same. Also, the bird being perched above me, the band was rarely in view as the birds legs were below the level of the perch and therefore out of sight. Also interesting was the fact that the bird took off, landing on a light standard in the rear parking lot some 200 feet from me, and was soon chased off by a VERY gutsy Kestrel.
