OFNC BIRD STATUS LINE SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 28 AT 2:30 PM
This is Chris Lewis reporting.
An AMERICAN AVOCET was found at Winchester sewage lagoons in the
southeast cell this morning. It was still present at 9:30 along
with approximately 25 American Golden Plovers.
Also, a possible juvenile PURPLE GALLINULE was seen at Shirley's
Bay around 9:30 as well, along the shoreline between the parking
lot and the base of the dyke. Although the bird was well
described, its identity was not certain and therefore a full alert
was not started.
This message will be updated when more information becomes
available.
Thank-you, good birding.
