Weekly report from the Cabot Head Research Station of the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory
(September 23rd - 29th)

Fall started with typical fall weather : we had lots wind, rain and overcat conditions during the week. Consequently, we lost many net-hours but some days were very good for banding. Black-capped Chickadees are still numerous, but we also had a good move of Myrtle Warblers and of Golden-crowned Kinglets the 27th. Two Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were seen the same day.

Sparrows are also moving through, mostly White-throated and White-crowned. On the Bay, White-winged Scoters are seen more regularly.

Cabot Head Research Station is located near DyerÂ’s Bay, on the Bruce Peninsula. Acces to the station is limited. Please contact us for a visit.
