The Buff-breasted Sandpiper was picked up by many birders throughout the day
in and around the rapidly diminishing pool of water in front of the Sobey
warehouses in southwest Whitby. It was first reported on Sep. 6.

>From Brock Rd. in Whitby, travel west along Victoria St. (south of the 401),
through 2 traffic lights, turning north at the first street west of the
Iroquois Sports Complex on Henry St. Turn along the street which parallels
the front of the warehouse.

The Cranberry Marsh Raptor Watch attracted over 30 visitors incl. 2 from the
GOLDEN GATE RAPTOR OBSERVATORY. The winds were very gewntle all day; after 6
hours we closed shop with 30 migrants, incl. 3 Osprey and 30 Sharp-shinneds.
A feature was our resident Peregine.

Eastward along Bayly/Victoria, through lakeridge to the first block
east--Hall's Rd.--south to a roadside parking area just north of the
lakefront.
