Hi All Go figure, I located another Chimmney Swift roost in a chimmney at the north east corner of Wellington and Horton Sts in downtown London. Between 8:04 and 8:12 I counted approximately 75 Chimmney Swifts entering the roost.
Looking back on my Chimmney Swift records for 2001, my first sighting was September 7th, 8pm, 300 Swifts, my last sighting October 3rd, with the numbers peaking around the 13th of September at over 400, but numbers staying in the 300s until the 24th of September. As well, once before probably about 10 years ago I saw Swifts entering this same chimmney. I was told it was blocked by the owner the following spring.
