NW winds and rising BP brought 19 observers and 102 migrating raptors to and
over, respectively, the platform at Cranberry Marsh. This gives us a total
of 192 hawks over the first 10 days.
Another highlight was the enjoyable promotion of the Sep.13 Thickson
Festival.

Non-raptors-- Chestnut-sided Warbler, Nashville W., Magnolia W., Warbling
Vireo, Red-breasted Nuthatch, many Hummers, Virginia Rail, Sora, Green
Heron, many Chimney Swifts and Swallows

We watched an Osprey battling across the sky with a large catfish in its
talons.

Migrant Raptors--- 7 OS, 4 NH, 54 SS, 1 CH, 16 BROAD-WINGED HAWKS (our first
BWs), 7 RT, 9 AK and 2 ML

Cranberry Marsh is at the south end of Hall's Rd. in southwest Whitby,
accessed from Victoria St., 1 block east of LakeRidge rd.
