Ontbirders This morning we worked The north shore of L. Erie from the Fisherville Road at Hoover Point east almost to but not including Grant's Point. There is lots of exposed rock (partly due to the north wind) and there are lots of birds. In addition to hundreds of 1st summer Bonaparte's Gulls, Forster's Terns and larger gulls we had the following:
Tundra Swan 1 (bottom Sweets Crnrs. Rd.), Little Gull (2 1st sum.), Hoover Point, Featherstone Point), Semipal. Plover 2, Black-bellied Plover 3, Semipal. Sand. 105, Least sand. 1, Ruddy turnstone 8, Red Knot 2 (Evans Point), Dunlin 95, Sanderling 1 Due to other commitments we had to return home but continuing to cover the shore eastwards from here to include Grant's, Rockhouse (aka Rock Point P.P. and eastwards would no doubt have borne fruit. The shore looks ripe for other interesting shorebirds and gulls. Directions: all noted places are on Map Art Ontario Road Atlas pp. 17-18.
