As I was saying Dennis Gardener and myself recorded the following numbers on Friday April 25 at Beamer Point Conservation Area. Turkey Vulture 25 Sharp-shinned Hawk 48 Northern Harrier 1 Cooper's Hawk 2 Broad-winged Hawk 161 Red-tailed hawk 13 Rough-legged Hawk 1 American Kestrel 2 The lone Rough-legged Hawk was a very dark dark-morph bird that generated considerable discussion and much referencing of field guides.
