Sunday morning saw the return of the Vesper Sparrow to the Elora-Cataract trailway west of Hillsburgh. This little group of birds has been breeding here since at least 1990. They are located about 500 m east of the intersection of the trail and the 5th line of Erin, north of Station road. Other birds seen on the trail today include 7 other species of sparrows (Song, Tree, Savannah, Chipping, White-throated, Field, and Dark-eyed Junco. There was also a Barn Swallow and a singing Yellow-rumped Warbler.
