On a canoe trip into the Minesing Swamp yesterday (April 13), our group saw 4 Sandhill Cranes flying over the swamp east of the mouth of Willow Creek, and a Red-bellied Woodpecker along Willow Creek, as well as large numbers of Ring-necked Ducks, Pintails, and other waterfowl.
The Minesing Swamp is located along the Nottawasaga River south of Edenvale, west of Barrie. The area currently is accessible only by canoe from the Edenvale area (but is a great trip!) Peter Kotanen Peter Kotanen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
