Monday, March 24th, approx. 6:00pm.
While driving home from work scanning the flooded fields I found a group of
85-100 Tundra Swans in a flooded field north of St. George . Also present
were at least six N.Pintails, 1 Wood Duck, 1 Am.Wigeon, 4 Ring-Necked Duck,
1 Bufflehead along with the Mallards, Canada Geese and vocal Red-wing
Blackbirds. Although the swans are visible to the naked eye (as white blobs
on a "pond") a scope will be needed to identify the ducks as the flooded
area is set back a couple of hundred metres over the first rise and into
the second dip.

Directions:
St.George is west of Dundas on Hwy #5 (north of Brantford). From the main
intersection in St. George turn north on St. George Road (towards Branchton
and Cambridge). 1.7 km north of Hwy #5 and 300m north of Howell road there
is a dip in the fields on the east (right) side of the road, opposite a
house with a blue sign #307. Look over the first rise into the second dip
to find the swans.

If anyone has recent information on the swans at Aylmer WMA (next to the
OPP HQ) please let me know PRIVATELY as I am planning to head down on the
weekend. Thanks in advance.
