Hi all, Mary just called me and the latest word is this. Bruce Murphy, local bird expert, went to pick up the loon and it turns out it is a grebe. I won't know which grebe it is till later . He plans to let it go on open water near a dam south of us and should there not be enough water they plan to bring it back to the Wildlife Rehab centre for a couple of weeks till the weather warms up. We are expecting -30 C weather.
