Hi all,
I took a run out to the St. Clair River in mid afternoon (Sat.) and found
the river littered with waterfowl. On my way south, I came across a
RED-NECKED GREBE off Marshy Creek park south of Fawn Island. This is the
exact-same spot I reported one on Feb. 2. Strangely enough, that was the
only day it was reported, but I assume it is the same individual. Also at
this location was a COMMON LOON-- I had not seen one since late December.
Around Sombra I had up to 5 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS scattered about. The
PINTAILS I reported the other day were farther north, off Cathcart Park.
There were so many ducks all along the river, it was impossible to look at
all of them.

Directions to Sombra and St. Clair River: Find Hwy 40 which runs N/S
between Sarnia and Wallaceburg. Turn west on Lambton Rd. 2 (Bentpath Line)
and take to
Sombra on the river. Sombra Bay is right in front of you. Fawn Island is
just to the south of the village. The St. Clair Parkway (Rd. 33) follows
the river along its length. Marshy Creek Park is a few km south of Sombra
in front of Riverview Public School.
