Red-shouldered hawk seen this am quartering the concession
immediately SW of Whitevale - overwintering birds within the
the precincts of Markham village: 100's of Mallards with
some Black ducks in open waters of Tannery creek; 1 Song
sparrow, 1 Whitethroated sparrow, 1 Purple finch, 1 Northern
shrike, 1 Northern mocking bird, American robins in the
gardens along with sightings of Sharp shinned, Cooper's &
Red-tailed hawks; + 2 GBHs on open waters of the Rouge -
Coyote Pond, unlike previous years, remains frozen solid
