Relocated the RH Woodpecker found yesterday by John Miles & his group. The bird was in the tall trees and on the lawn at # 2760 River Road, inbetween Indiana to the north & Townline to the south. River Rd. runs north of Highway #3 just west of Cayuga. The woodpecker is moulting into breeding plumage-bib and some feathers on left cheek are red. Nearby was a Kingfisher.
At Nanticoke found imm. Bald Eagle,Mockingbird, Song Sparrow, 3000 + Common Mergansers, 3 Hooded Mergansers, a Horned Grebe, a 1st-winter Glaucous Gull, Horned Larks. In the area were many RT Hawks, Kestrels, 1 N. Harrier, 1 Coopers' Hawk.
Nanticoke is on Lake Erie east of Port Dover. The best viewing area is on Lakeshore Rd. east of the Plant south off Reg. Rd. #3.
