Due to technical difficulties this message did not make it through last night so I am resending.
At 4:00 p.m. yesterday, Sunday 19th, in howling winds and a snow squall, I found the Snowy Owl sitting in the highest cormorant's nest at the back of Tollgate Ponds. The bird was actually visible from the QEW and could be easily viewed from Eastport Drive. Access to Eastport Drive has to be made through Woodward Ave over the skyway bridge as the lift bridge is currently closed. Hopefully the bird will be relocated in the same vicinity for those wishing to go out. Good Birding Cheryl Directions: QEW Niagara to Woodward Ave. Continue right off the ramp and follow signs to Eastport Drive. Continue on Eastport back toward the bay until you see Tollgate Ponds on your left. The bird was at the back of the largest pond but has been spotted on the ground at Pier 26 which is just beside it.
