VARIED THRUSH NEAR PICTON There is a male varied thrush at a feeder at Prinyer's Cove, about 27 km east of Picton. The bird first appeared on Tuesday, January 7th, and was seen again this morning (Thursday) at 11:30 a.m. and again at 1:00 p.m. from a distance of about 15 - 20 metres by Maureen Riggs of Brighton and Albert Boisvert of Trenton. The bird can be found at Civic Address # 383 Prinyer's Cove Crescent. It is mandatory that birders park well off the road and not block any driveways. The bird can be best viewed by approaching no closer than the back of the double garage where it can be viewed at the feeder on the left side of the house. The owner of the home is Rita Chapman and when she initially reported the bird to me, she also described a female which had accompanied the male on at least one occasion, but the female was not seen today.
Directions: From Picton, take Highway 33 for about 10 km to almost the Glenora Ferry, then turn onto County Road 7 and follow to Lake-on-the-Mountain and a further 17 km to Prinyer's Cove Crescent (right on a corner). Terry Sprague Picton [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Terry Sprague" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
