Today, Jan. 4/03, Gerald & Shirley Paul birded Wolfe Island north to south
from 9th line west for four hours and observed 27 species. Worth noting
were: 108 Tundra Swans, 55 Wild Turkeys (near intersection of Hwy 95 and 7th
Line), a mature Bald Eagle, 2 Snowy Owls, 2 Short-eared Owls, 2 flocks of
Snow Buntings (a total of 48), & 5 Common Redpolls. The only hawks we saw
were 2 American Kestrel.
