Thanks for the info -- is there a way that there can be feature parity, at
least in terms of stats reported, between ARM and "rndc stats"?

...you can see that info via a HTML-based "statistics channel" (see
the ARM for more details).  You can also see the configured
max-cache-size from that channel.
