Thank you for the link Jeff, but my first impressions are different from Richard's. The leading article is about how poor PHP is in comparison with Perl. It concludes with the line > Get a clue, PHP people. The secondary one is to a code.google.com page that shows some very ugly code that illegally uses WWW::Mechanize to crawl the Web for mp3 files and store them in a database. Perl is a programming language, not a football club. Success depends on wisdom and intuition about what is the right tool in the circumstances. There are situations in which PHP, SQL, JavaScript, Lisp, Prolog, C, or Forth are the best choice. As soon as we start saying, "My hammer is better than your screwdriver," everyone loses out.
