IMO you should correct the subject line if it's obvious that the poster has made a reply instead of starting a new thread, but be aware that many mail clients can't see threads. However trying to fix things by starting a new thread after a couple of posts can easily split the thread into two and I think it is better left as it is but with a new subject.
