Dan, Nope, doesn't work, either of them. I get these errors from the error.log file
Premature end of script headers: c:/program files/apache group/apache/cgi-bin/test.cgi Use of uninitialized value in print at c:/program files/apache group/apache/cgi-bin/test.cgi line 5. I'm running my perl from c:\ and the server IP address it not the same as my localhost one...the machine holds a local apache server and our internet connection follows another IP address...it isn't something where I have to change my localhost IP address to match the corporate IP address is it? I keep getting this distinct feeling I'm trying to put my shoes on before my socks? The problem is, I cannot run this script on the corporate server so I need a way of getting round that. The script is a quick fix solution toa problem and I'm sure our server admin people would be unhappy if they were running a script on their server that they didn't control and acted as a quick fix...there is only one solution, the quick fix...too costly otherwise...
