Running a Perl Script from a Perl script

This may seem like an odd questiong but to avoid race conditions I need
to be able to run a Perl script from a Perl script (Ie execute it
without any user interaction).  Is this possbile.

if (something = something) {
        RUN NEW PERL SCRIPT HERE THEN CONTINUE WITH THE PERL SCRIPT
ALREADY RUNNING
} else {
        print "Everything is fine \n";
}
