Indeed. Patience and a willingness to repeat one's self was one of

also seem to have lost one or two regular contributors.

I can attest to this. After having the LAW passed to me by Rudd telling me I
need to remove my signature which I have no control over, I don't really feel
welcome. Also, my reply format was scrutinized because I am new to these types
of lists. (I think it's called beginners for a reason.)

While many rules are still valid there are many that died the day when "normal" people and companies started to get access to the internet. Not everybody writes emails in perfect form anymore.

Some of the rules doesn't even make sense anymore, like the four-line-signature: Most people - when using their company mail account - are forced by local law to include a number of information (address, telephone number, company chairman, commercial registration number and so on). At least in some EU countries, the law also requires that this information is structured in a way so one can quickly find the correct bits of info.

Many of us can't deal with the changes that happen in the past decade, either because we are old or because we are perfectionist, or both. I used to be one of those people, but i have grown up.

In my opinion, people who bash other people for not writing Emails according to some outdated rules should be kicked in the seating module.
