Don't waste your time. There are only a very few modules that get elected for 
inclusion in the base Perl distro. As one of those modules, CGI is a secure, 
rock-solid, complete, mature, stable module written by a real Internet pro.

You should be aware that if you use a different library make sure that the one you use 
is secure. People are forgetting that the common gateway interface is one of the 
biggest potential security holes on a server. CGI was written from the beginning to 
not compromise the security of the box on which it runs.
