Robert, I followed these steps and got it changed to the version 4.1.0-rc6-bone6. Modified the /boot/uEnv.txt etc. I also see the file /lib/firmware/BB-SPIDEV0-00A0.dtbo etc. I however, do not see the file /sys/devices/bone_capemgr*. Hence, I also don't see /dev/spi*. I am using the BBB, and not the Beaglebone White. Any idea, why the bone_capemgr* is not running? I am trying to enable the SPI0, so that I can talk to my own cape via SPI0.
