It's the md5 of the "*.img.xz"

It's in /boot/uEnv.txt which is on the ext4 partition, what you see there
is the shared windows fat partition which is un-used by the OS.

btw instead of tweaking the standalone image for flashing, just use the
flasher:

http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack_Debian#BBB_Rev_C_.284GB_eMMC.29

any files with the "BBB-eMMC-flasher-*" prefix automatically flashes the
eMMC on bootup..
