Reviews

Yochanan:

1/3: Back to the Future (1985) nephew (19) had never seen it. He said it was
great, and really hold up. Great time travel, humor and charm. Now available to
stream on Netflix.
Gearld: NG-T has it in his list of good Sci-Fi films

2/3: The Sons of Star Trek (4 issue comic) Alexander (son of Worf), Jake (son
of Sisko) and nog (son of Quark) are transported to an alternate universe by Q,
Jr. Not great, but good art. Crazy universe.

3/3: Doctor Who: The Crimson Horror (Target novelization) by Mark Gatiss (the
original episode’s author). Fantastic. Chapters change from different
characters POVs. Really good.

Rick:
Star wars The Acolyte (D+) Set hundred of years ago in to old republic. Not
entirely sure after 7 episodes what he’s getting out of it. Interesting world
building. One of the principal actors was from Squid Game. If already a D+
subscriber, watch.
Cliff: (7. eps in) Loving it. Waiting to see if they stick the landing.

Rani:
Murderbot series by Martha Wells (novellas and a novel). A security cyborg.
Hilarious, sarcastic, super human. Struggling with moral, ethics and
philosophy. Very fun, and action packed.

Gerald:
Photography of the assassination attempt was the most amazing thing of the
event.
Ken: That event caused the cancellation the opening night of the stage
production of Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins at San Jose Playhouse/3Below

Cliff:
Just saw Furiosa. Fabulous! Should probably see Fury Road first. It’s his
second favorite of the Mad Max series (after Fury Road) the actresses playing
Furiosa did a great job.
Contact (C Sagan) reread for book club. Holds up. The book goes in more depth
than the film.
Lots of talk about Mavity and Interstellar…
And lots of “Busman’s Holiday” movie issues…

Walter:
Watched Animated series Scavenger Reign. Stranded on a planet. Amazing planet.
Very imaginative. (HBOMax)
Yochanan: Also loved it. 10 x 30 (2d animation). The world building is amazing.
Adult level, and body horror.

There was an auction.

Rumor of the Week:

In the mirror universe, even the whales are evil.

Adjourned at: 21:15
