ANNOUNCEMENTS:

and will be going for 10 days & announced that the HistoryPark Halloween
Light Show is currently ongoing & announced that a program called 'The
Planets' is on Amazon Prime is showing now but will soon go away

Howeird announced that his squamous cancer [non-fatal but annoying] surgery
has been accomplished successfully

Ken announced that it's 6 days before the new Dr Who launches, check BBC

REVIEWS:

Yochanan reviewed 'Dune' as a very good adaptation for the 'Part One'
potion filmed & appeared to be faithful to the story & he was amazed &
thinks it worth full price; Ken saw it and commented that it is difficult
to make a movie adaptation of classics and not have them be dull and this
adaptation is definitely not dull - even though there is no topless Sting
in the Feyd-Rautha role; the secretary also saw 'Dune' and enjoyed it
immensely & thought that the casting for everyone except Jessica was spot
on. Jessica was played as too weak IMO. Sandra also saw 'Dune' & thought
it was interesting & mentioned that there are many books set in Herbert's
'Dune' universe; Trey also reviewed it as he mostly enjoyed it, even though
he did not care for either Duke Leto or Jessica's performances and his
opinion is that it is difficult to film a perfect adaptation, but that he
felt the movie was worth close to full price; Kennita saw 'Dune' and said
that it would have been difficult to follow the dialogue without subtitles;
Duncan found that having had so much experience with other adaptations made
it more difficult to appreciate this adaptation since he was not going in
with fresh eyes

Ric reviewed the 'Foundation' adaptation as that *now*, by episode 6, they
have completed their Asimov-ectomy and there is no trace of Asimov left in
the show at all and it is completely space opera now - for better or for
worse - but mostly for worse
Howeird asked, 'So Rick, are you saying there is now no foundation left
in Foundation?' to many groans

Yochanan reviewed 'Only Murders in the Building' on Hulu as it is really
good, and that even though he does not like mysteries, he likes this a lot
and recommends all 10 episodes as a hidden treasure; Craig followed that he
also finds it really entertaining

we adjourned at 8:45 pm

and the rumor of the week = 'Fear is the sequel killer
