the VP had nothing fannish to report

the President noted that 2020 is nearly over

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dave C announced that 'The Watch' is kind of coming to the Syfy channel,
but with ... adaptations & that according to Pratchett's daughter it
'shares no DNA with Pratchett's work'

Ken announced that Dr Who will be on Jan 1 on a variety of channels,
'Revolution of the Daleks'
& there was some discussion as an excuse for puns ... so many puns

Howeird announced that according to his calendar tomorrow is a full moon

Lisa announced that today was Harold's 82nd birthday

REVIEWS:
Howeird reviewed season 5 of 'The Expanse', which is now available, but
opined that you should probably see the other seasons first & he was not
impressed with either the lighting, the plot or the acting & Yochanan
followed, saying that he has also seen the same episodes and really enjoyed
them. Gerry commented that he doesn't enjoy the tendency to film so much
in the dark

Yochanan reviewed the 1st 2 seasons of 'The Mandalorian' has he's never
really been a Star Wars fan, but really, really has enjoyed the whole show
& this surprised him & also reviewed a TV movie 'We Can Be Heroes' as very
formulaic, a kid movie & is worth free for kids with low expectations

John O reviewed 'The Mandalorian' as, if you like it, be sure to see the
Disney Plus 'Disney Gallery' which is a 'making-of' for the series & then
reviewed 'Wonder Woman 1984' as it falls a little flat, but there are some
very good scenes. It does not lend itself to the small screen & he
recommends it & then reviewed 'Soul' as a wonderful movie & also recommends
it

Gerry reviewed having duck for dinner for Christmas worked very well with
the way Gayle chose to cook it - as doing so with it upright, so that the
fat cooks out and ends up in the pan & can be used later

Dave C commented that 'Wonder Woman 1984' is actually showing at several
theaters ... some rather far afield

we adjourned at 8:30 pm

and the rumor of the week = 'The tunnel at the end of the light'
