One more suggestion.
If your friend would like to try a good popup there's Little Green Cyclo, which
is Zagat Rated and appears all over the Bay Area. Some of their best items are
seasonal specials that appear only on their Twitter feed and Facebook page, but
a simple meal of Sweet Potato Tater Tots, Garlic Noodles with Tamarind Prawns,
and Beignets--all items on their menu--keeps me coming back.
