Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargeant at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary held at Coco's, 1206 Oakmead Parkway (Lawrence Expressway/101 fwy), Sunnyvale Began at 8:06 pm ... distracted by pie 20 people attended we established a party jar Secretary’s report: the minutes from meeting 1067 were accepted as 'for the greater good' the Treasurer reported that at meeting 1067 we took in $24.25 in the regular jar & $15.25 in the Salon Futura jar the Vice President reported that there are now -2- new 'Drink Tanks' out since he last reported – check efanzines – and the Computer History Museum just opened a new exhibit = 'Revolution' The President had nothing fannish to report The Party Committee reported that there was a successful BASFA party at FurCon The Sports Committee reported that 16 have contacted him, interested in buying tickets to the May 6th, Friday, Giants home game to help celebrate Willie Mays' birthday – but we need 25 REPOSTED REMINDER: our Hugo nomination discussions be held on Jan 24, 31 & on February 7 – and we ask that BASFAns show restraint in not bringing in auction items on those nights Announcements: Bob announced that issue #6 of e2PMI on www.radio-sf.com = and lulu Chris announced that Corflu is at the Domain hotel in 4 weeks Howeird announced that Conflikt is the last weekend of January in Seattle & he plans to attend & announced that Feb 5th will be [11:00am – 3:00pm] Farewell to Monarchs Day (Arts & crafts, slideshow, walks) at Ardenwood Historic Farms Julie announced that an ERPs meeting will be tomorrow night at Gerry Nordley's house and she announced that she'll be uploading art and cartoons to spiralsheet.com Reviews FurCon was reviewed by Josh as that the Fairmont still bites as a con hotel, the con suite & fursuit parade were both awesome & everyone was super nice; Mo reviewed that she actually got to attend panels & enjoyed them, it was really exciting & she especially enjoyed that all 4 pianos were being played by con-goers during the con; Lisa reviewed that she ran the Westercon fan table, that the panels she saw were good, the Masquerade was good, FNL was no so good and the BASFA party was great; Dave C reviewed FC as the hotel food service was glacial Dave G reviewed the Picasso exhibit in Seattle as wonderful & led to their new phrase: 'damn you Pablo!' & reviewed the Battlestar Galactica exhibit at the sf museum as worth being sfn members for I reviewed 'The Green Hornet' as being an hour of dull mixed with an hour of fun, exciting film Chris reviewed 'Things to Come' as he should have seen it decades ago & it's worth Netflix; reviewed Stephen Baxter's book 'Evolution' as really neat but long; & reviewed the board game 'the Bigfoot Game' by Hasbro as a remarkably wonderful, terrible game Julie reviewed a Burt Lancaster film, 'the Train' as it should be a must see film for film students & well worth Netflixing; Mo follow-on'd that it got a lot of critical acclaim when it came out; then Julie reviewed 'Monsters vs Aliens' as worth seeing, with decent 3D Dave C reviewed 'Celebrity Autobiography' as fun for masochists Mo reviewed 'Tales of Tomorrow' as check Hulu for the 60 episodes & a really good series Then we did auctions –calendars for $4.00, $0.25, $0.25; & a plastic bag for $0.25 We adjourned at = 9:35 pm The rumor of the week was: 'Body by Escher' -- ******************* She/whispered/'Oh/my/goodness/what/are/all/these/squirrels/doing/here?' melc...@gmail.com *******************
