Back on this. Before giving up and switching to the python-based autochanger script, i need to understand a but better, so i give it a try to the 'standard' bash version...
The trouble: LTO9 tapes (IBM mine, but i think other are the same...) take an insane amount of time to rewind the tape; for an half-used tape, roughly 3-4 minutes. I can set in mtx-changer.conf: offline=1 offline_sleep=300 and if i run by hand, work as expected; but if bacula run it, got timeout: 26-Feb 09:58 cnpve3-sd JobId 17505: 3995 Bad autochanger "unload Volume *Unknown*, Slot 3, Drive 0": ERR=Child died from signal 15: Termination Results=Program killed by Bacula (timeout) 26-Feb 09:58 cnpve3-sd JobId 17505: Warning: mount.c:215 Open of Tape device "LTO9Storage0" (/dev/nst0) Volume "AAJ663L9" failed: ERR=tape_dev.c:170 Unable to open device "LTO9Storage0" (/dev/nst0): ERR=Input/output error so 'Changer Command' SD option have a timout; i've tried to find it this timeout value, but i suppose is hardcoded. Someone have some clue/info on that? I'm trying to modify mtx-changer, but i've not clear if tiemout happens because is a 'sleep 300', so no output for 5 minutes, while if i do some sort of loops doing some output bacula will gracefully wait...
