Thank you very much!
Thanks for the feedback. I now know more precisely where to look for the bug, and I may even be able to reproduce it. There seems to be a real bug here, but very few people run with Attribute Spooling turned off, and at least I now know the workaround. > > Although the underlying bug is not fixed, this just prevented the situation > where it arose. Good enough for my needs though, I appreciate it a lot! Using Attribute Spooling will significantlyimprove your database insertion performance, and it will guarantee that the problem will not come back so you do not need to worry about it any more. > > Concerning your recommendations for Volume size, I'll probably use ~50GB since > I'm interested in auto recycling and don't want to maximize the number of > volumes that are holding unexpired jobs by using very large volumes like > 500GB. > I admit I could be wrong about my reasoning. :) 50GB sounds perfectly fine to me. > > I'm also implementing offsite backups via copy jobs (but haven't started on > this task yet). I implemented Copy jobs, but I don't use them (other than for testing), so there are certainly more experienced people on this list that can tell you how they do it -- hopefully successfully.
