When you copy jobs/volume outside of Bacula (using bcopy tool) then no information about your copy is tracked in Bacula catalog, so it is impossible (without scanning a copied volume back into the catalog with bscan, which I suppose you did not perform) to restore it with restore job as above. You should bscan copied volume (tape) to the catalog an then run a restore job again. You can always restore from Bacula volume (tape or file) with bextract tool. This restore (bextract) will run outside of Bacula, so no job will be created in catalog and executed by Director/SD/FD. So bextrace is a local restore utility only. BTW, you did not show what you tries to restore - could you please show us your bconsole->restore session. And the most important. What is a purpose for your test? What do you expect? best regards -- Radosław Korzeniewski rados...@korzeniewski.net
