So finally I discovered in another HP LTT utility test session, and when pressing the "health" button that my drive is having a head calibration issue at random. Sometimes my PC gets stuck during boot when the LSI SCSI card scans the bus and the tape drive just hasn't reported itself ready yet. Other times it works flawlessly.
The drive has a solid light on the READY led, and a blinking DRIVE ERROR led. The LTT application error I get is: "the drive has experienced a fatal head calibration error" I'm going to try a different tape and maybe try a cleaning but I fear the end is nigh for this drive :( +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by jsta...@cfdlab.mcgill.ca via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to ab...@backupcentral.com. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Want fast and easy access to all the code in your enterprise?
