I'm getting discouraged with my old MSL6000 autochanger and need some help. It runs fine for a week at a time backing up to LTO4 tapes, and then every so often I get a job that fails with bacula returning an email with something like:
Fatal error: 3992 Bad autochanger "load slot 11, drive 0": ERR=Child died from signal 15: Termination. then when I login to bconsole it starts spitting out this error in a continuous loop: "Error Code=70 (Current) mtx: Request Sense: Sense Key=Hardware Error" Next day I visit the server room, and the autochanger displays on the OSD: "Fault code : 3200 (Hard) Shuttle Jammed" It asks me to reboot and the shuttle can't unload the tape from the drive, then displays "Fault code : 301c (soft) Drive get general status failure" At this point there isn't much I can do except stop all bacula services then power off the unit once or twice until the activity led on the drive stops flashing. Then I rescan the scsi bus, restart bacula, and go another week before repeating this whole process again. Any suggestions?
