OK, I have obviously found the manual at http://www.bacula.org/manuals/en/ but wow it does not seem to be suited to someone who has no idea what they are doing here. I've got decades of Linux / UNIX experience but it has been many years since I"ve had to deal with tapes, and this is my first time ever configuring a jukebox
I've sorted out some things like using btape to test my jukebox. That went well overnight and looks good. Now the next step in this doc says to try a small backup http://www.bacula.org/5.0.x-manuals/en/problems/problems/Testing_Your_Tape_Drive.html OK great, but I need a tape storage pool for that. It keeps wanting to back up to files. The "brief tutorial" seem to be a little too brief. For example, the "Creating a Pool" part does not actually tell me how to create a pool http://www.bacula.org/manuals/en/concepts/concepts/Brief_Tutorial.html#SECTION0011150000000000000000 This is all a little overwhelming. Is there a better tutorial somewhere to get me off the ground? thanks, -Alan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Master Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.NET, C# 2012, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Windows 8 Apps, JavaScript and much more.
