Both kernel 2.6.26 and 2.6.32 has cciss 3.6.20. So I looked for a newer version here [2] and in particular by compiling the source code provided by this [3] package, but I never had success in recognizing the tape drive and changer. It draws attention not to find version 4.6.22 that it seems to be available for SuSE. In the HP site I only see this version for SuSE x86_64, but not for Debian. In addition, I am using i386 architecture. I found some previous messages in this list of Martin Mielke, João Carneiro and Andy Hughes using HP Storagework 1/8 with Bacula. If you are reading me, I wonder if the scenario used to test the autoloader was the same as mine (Debian GNU/Linux Lenny with the autoloader connected via a SAS RAID controller). If so, I would be thankful for any commentary about something that I might be missing to do. Thanks for your reply.
