Consider that Bacula backs up to Volumes. Volumes belong to Pools. To Bacula, Volumes can be tapes or disk (and other media). There is no difference to Bacula. The format is the same. The scheduling, retention, etc, all the same. I think more is written about tape because those particular sections of the documentation was written before disk backup was implemented. I find myself talking and writing about tapes more than disks. This may be because I backup to tape more than to disk. These are unproven theories. - -- Dan Langille BSDCan - The Technical BSD Conference : http://www.bsdcan.org/ PGCon - The PostgreSQL Conference: http://www.pgcon.org/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.11 (FreeBSD) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkn229UACgkQCgsXFM/7nTzlgACg5fQsbj4pNZIiybEaH9GmYurj jwcAn0gvL8FBlf2o0nkAtMLW+Axq8RW5 =ulzY -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Register Now & Save for Velocity, the Web Performance & Operations Conference from O'Reilly Media.
