The Retention is set for the Job not on the file. These files should be getting into the database. Conf. JobDefs { Name = "Critical" Type = Backup Level = Full FileSet = "System" Schedule = "Weekly" Storage = PV-124T RescheduleOnError = yes RescheduleInterval = 5 RescheduleTimes = 3 Messages = Standard Pool = Default Priority = 8 Job Retention = 28 days } To run bscan I mounted the correct drive then stoped the bacula-sd and started the bscan with this command. [r...@server ~]# bscan -s -m -P 'Password' -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf -v -V 000101L2 /dev/nst0 I am running a complete bscan on the files and I saw the system go past the JobID and then not have the values reinserted into the database. Does bscan insert them at the end of the run?
Here is the log. 19-Mar 14:55 bscan JobId 0: End of file 19 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0), Volume "000101L2" bscan: bscan.c:506 SOS_LABEL: Found Job record for JobId: 15572 19-Mar 14:56 bscan JobId 0: End of file 20 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0), Volume "000101L2" 19-Mar 14:57 bscan JobId 0: End of file 21 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0), Volume "000101L2" 19-Mar 14:57 bscan JobId 0: End of file 22 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0), Volume "000101L2" 19-Mar 14:58 bscan JobId 0: End of file 23 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0), Volume "000101L2" 19-Mar 14:58 bscan JobId 0: End of file 24 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0), Volume "000101L2" . . . . bscan: bscan.c:688 1,638,400 file records. There is File Retention, Volume Retention, and Job Retention. http://bacula.org/en/rel-manual/Catalog_Maintenance.html#14145 I doubt you have that set. And to me this looks like some type of bug (I may be wrong). One way to recover is to use bscan to reimport the missing file records to your database. Or possibly first use bls to see what actually is on the tapes. http://bacula.org/en/rel-manual/Volume_Utility_Tools.html#20029 John ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apps built with the Adobe(R) Flex(R) framework and Flex Builder(TM) are powering Web 2.0 with engaging, cross-platform capabilities.
